I believe you said you were running in excess of 15 kva on your system. 
You might want to consider a set of our 1 inch dia. tungsten-moly alloy
electrodes.  They work fine up to 40 kva for stationary gaps using 2 x 2
inch solid brass as the heatsink.  They are tapped for 1/2-13 NC hole.  The
1/2 inch dia. Miller's would not deliver the best quench at the peak power
levels you will be running.  Been there -- done that.
