Subject: Rolled Capacitor Question

Hello,

If I built a rolled cap with two additional plates/dielectric wouldn't that
half the voltage seen across each dielectric section therefore doubling the
breakdown voltage for the entire capacitor.

What I'm thinking is:

Plate (terminal one)
Dielectric
Plate
Dielectric
Plate (terminal two)
Dielectric
Plate
Dielectric

After further analysis (drawing spirals on a sheet of paper) I think I found
the drawback. I appears that this configuration would also half the
capacitance since there will effectively be two caps in series (no free
lunch). Am I on the correct track or completely off base here?

Thanks,
