No Max, Don't Do It!.........

Tesla coils screw up garage door openers!  Small Tesla coils  (under 1KW)
about 10-15 feet away may be OK.  But you could still burn out the garage
door unit electronics.  I unplugged mine and it seemed to "protect it"
somewhat.  However, if you have  a big Tesla coil.....you'll fry it!
