I tried that once.  Worked like a plasma tourch.  Chopped the vanes right off.
However, mine was mad of plastic.  A high temperature ceramic that is also
thermally conductive may work much better.  Maybe aluminum oxide as is used
in the electronic hybrids industry would work.  Comes in a wide varity of
sizes.  Can be laser cut to practically any pattern (that involves money but
not too much really).  I remember hearing of such a device being made once
but the source is long forgotten.  Plasmas are REALLY hot however so some
testing should be done before spending too much money on something that may
not work.
