Always run the sparkgap in parallel with your xmfr. After the gap the cap
goes in series with the top (tapped) end of the primary of the resonance
xmfr. If you are using wood form for your chokes, get some 2 in dia
"closet pole" and machine some 1/2-3/4 inch deep notches into which you
wind about 100 turns in each notch (1/4 in wide notch). 500-600 turns
works well.
