Try a 20 x 5 toroid, .03 MFD primary cap, 200 ma drive at 10-14 KV, scrap
20 turn pri flat spiral with #10 AWG wire (throw away later and replace
with copper tubing when you have found the right # of taps to use). You
could also use a .02 cap but will require more turns on pri. Could also
go down to a 14 x 5 toroid with a .02 MFD cap and 120 ma drive but
performance will decrease slightly. This should get you in the ballpark.
Expect 44-50 inch sparks with the first combination I suggested. I believe
our primary ended up being only 6 turns with this combination.
