Well,
      It seems a better gap system is now on the cards. Power arcs 
seem to have come to stay. Doubtless tuning is not all it could be 
but on the occasions when it did fire properly, the coil was reaching 
out and attaching to everything around it. Ouput voltage is now 
barely high enough with the transformer I am using. I switched it off 
when a five foot long fork snaked straight towards my leg. Lookin' 
good :)
