MC, All,

Interestingly, others have stated that their neon trannies have failed
despite
their use of protective chokes, non-resonant cap sizes, resistors, etc. I
have
heard that neons are prone to eventual failure in TC use no matter what
precautions are used because the tar was never designed for long term
HV stresses, etc. In normal operation in a neon sign, the trannie
delivers only about 800 volts after the neon tube lights up. Peter E
re-posted the resonant formula the other day.
