Hello Rene:
A suggestion that could help you locate your magnet wire is to look up Motor
Repair Shops in the Yellow pages. These places will typically buy the wire
in 80 or 250 pound spools or something close to that. You should be able to
get the wire for far less than the $5.00 per pound your note mentioned. Any
big city should have several motor repair shops, wish you luck in finding
one who is willing to sell you some wire. It would probably help to got
there with some object to wind the wire onto! I would also suggest first
asking for a wire with the "Heavy Build" overcoat, an example is Essex MR200
or GP200 type wire. If a choice isn't available, don't hesitate to buy a
standard magnet wire.
