I don't think so Steve, superconductors are used to create intense  
magnetic fields in such devices as the MAG-LEV a train on a frictionless 
track due to being magneticaly levitated. If indeed strong magnetic fields
destroyed the superconducting effect the MAG-LEV couldn't work, BUT IT 
DOES.
