Gary,
I see these rotating sparks on my 8" by 20" secondary whenever
I use my 8" hemisphere as a discharge terminal. I'll get 3 (usually)
air discharges about 2' long that precess around the lower lip
clockwise. I't doesn't seem to matter whether I'm powering my TC with
my 15kV 60ma neon and static gap or my 7.2kV pig with rotary gap.
I've never noticed them with a toroid.
