With all the new posts about Police visits, I don't think I want to have
a Police visit unless it was the FCC.

I have had TOO many visits from the Police regarding my music (lots of
subwoofers). And I am afraid that they have a running tally. Thats all I
need a nice noise pollution fine. And for all of you with real cool
neighbors, send them this way...

On one side of my house there is a cool family living in a complex. The
other family living with them is not too nice AT ALL. They have called
the cops on me twice so far because I accidently left my window open
while playing some new Bass305 cds :)

On the other side I have new neighbors that are the kind that stay home,
drink and smoke all day. I am afraid that they will call the cops on me
if my other neighbors aren't home.

I don't care if I interfere with their TVs, I think that would be
awesome,
what I don't want to do is give anyone a heart attack from the noise.
(Because I'm not going to invite them over to watch it, the minute they
here of "sparks" there's gonna be a bang at my door if you know what I
mean).

So. I would guess most of the noise comes from the spark gap.

Has anyone here ever tried to noise insulate it, while not preventing it
from firing normally? How loud is a vacuum gap? I would think it would
be silent. And how loud is the actual arcs leaving the top terminal?

The other day I was playing around with capacitors and spark gaps. The
noise was so loud I could here it outside nice and good volume with the
window closed. I can imagine the noise I'm going to get from my coil
after it is finished!!
