Sidac, page 170 of Digi Key catalog # 964:
"The Sidac is a silicon bilateral voltage triggered
switch with greater power handling capabilities
than standard diacs." The breakover voltages
range from 90 to 270 volts.  A small picture shows
a Sidac triggering a trigger transformer for a
xenon strobe tube.  Apparently the Sidac is
beefy enough to replace the scr and diac
normally used!! 1-800-344-4539 Digi Key.
Electronic goldmine sells plain diacs.
