In the book, "Tesla, Man out of Time" by Margaret Cheney, it tells of
the
large fights between Tesla and Westinghouse and Edison. Tesla and
Westinghouse were then partners working on AC while Edison believed in
and
worshipped DC current. He even went as far as stealing puppies and
kittens
from the neighborhood to show how dangerous AC was by "Westinghouse-ing"
them (electrocuting them with the Westinghouse-Tesla AC Current).
Although Edison first created an electrical generation system and
distribution system, it was all DC. In fact, at one point Tesla worked
for
Edison, then decided AC was more efficient and partnered with
Westinghouse
to create a new AC distribution and Generation system.
