        Welcome to the the group!

If you're interested in Tesla coils - you =have= come to
        the right place.

If you're interested in lightning generators you have made
a wrong turn on the information super-highway. Lightning
is essentially the hyperbolic opposite of the discharges
to be obtained from Tesla coils!

Tesla current is =high frequency= high voltage, essentially
        ac.

Lightning is static electricity - essentially dc.

Don't despair - I've excellent news: There is but one way
to generate Tesla current - Tesla coils (surprise!).

                                - but -

High-voltage static electricity (lightning if you please)
can be generated by a dozen or so different classes of
devices. There's much more variety, and the overall
experience(s) with these types of apparatus are =much=
more exciting than anything possible with mere Tesla coils.

For Tesla-ing, stay here with us and enjoy.

For lightning, its kith, kin, and ilk, there's the High
        Voltage Mail List (hvlist-at-anchorage.ab.umd.edu) hosted
        by Mr. S. Roys.

                                Regards,
