For termination try a 12 x 3 toroid or a 14 inch dia. sphere atop your
sec.
coil.
Drive with a 12 KV, 120 ma neon transformer (or two 60 ma units in
parallel).

Start with a 12 turn primary and elevate secondary coil 2 inches above
the
primary.
Tap the primary as necessary (this is the tuning part).

Use a variac on the primary side of the neon transformer to keep power
to
40%
or under until you get the circuit in tune.

Use a .02 MFD capacitor (30 KV DC pulse rating).

You can use a subdivided 6 electrode (5 sparkgaps) sparkgap with a 250
CFM
fan blowing
air through the gap or a small rotary -- suggest around 1725 RPM with 8
electrodes.

This configuration will give you a minimum of 30 inches of spark output
to
start with -- perhaps up
to 40 inches with some fine tuning. Be sure to use scrap wood blocks to
elevate sec. coil up and
down -- this adjusts coupling for best output.

Good luck and have fun!
