Chuck,

I buried a massive ground in my back yard last Saturday - six ground rods
connected with about 30 feet of 2 inch wide copper strap soldered directly
to each ground rod. That's a lot of copper buried in the ground! We've had
heavy rain every day since, and the ground is mushy wet - very good ground
indeed. I'll not be running a high impedence ground any more, as I was with
the copper tubing going to a water pipe. The weather has cleared, and if
it holds, I'll be running my coil again this Saturday night and I will take
the first still photos of it running. I'll post these first pics as soon as
I can. We're putting the 62 inch by 8 inch toroid on it this time, and we
expect to be able to push the sparks out from 90 inches to 120 inches. We
will probably also change out the potential transformer from the little 2
kva 20,200 volt to a 5 kva 34,500 volt (though I doubt if we'll run it wide
open.)

This should make for an interesting evening!
