I have had good luck with using a 1" wide piece of brass strap
bent into a U shape. A hole drilled in the two free ends through which
bolt is passed gives excellent and uniform compression. The bolt
provides a good place to secure a heavy conductor. A wing nut makes
life easy for quickly changing tap locations. It also presents a
very low profile so as not to attract too many sparks.
