All,

I just finished winding a 5" dia. x 20" secondary coil with
24ga. SQUARE wire and was interested to find that the
measured Fsec was 50kHz higher than calculated for
round wire.

I'm guessing that the increased interturn surface area
contributed to this observation. Does anyone know the
technical explanation as to why Fsec would be higher
with square wire?

BTW, This is the secondary for a tube coil using two
CDR JAN 250TH tubes and a 3kVDC plate supply.
