I once used a series of six spark plugs mounted two by three in a block
of wood. All plugs were connected in series and I used an alligator clip
to tap onto the third or fourth plug to provide adjustment. It was not a
good solution. Quenching is difficult, and the gaps must all be set the
same to have any real meaning for adjustment. They must be constantly
cleaned and quickly build up conductive deposits on the ceramic
insulator. Since the electrodes are so small, they heat very quickly, so
their conductive properties change during run time making optimal tune
almost impossible. I have abandoned the idea for something with a much
larger thermal mass.
