Star Trek!
Greetings all,
I was running my coil for some friends this evening and had a little
excitement above and beyond the "standard" excitement of the coil.
After running the coil three or four times for a few seconds each, I fired
it up again. This time, the volt meter on my power cabinet blew the clear
plastic cover off the face with a shower of golden sparks and a little
smoke right behind it.
I thought that kind of stuff only happened in Star Trek episodes.
These incidents have helped me determine my future projects: Rewire my
power cabinet, repair the blown capacitor, and roll three more. I also
have 6" and a 9.5" secondaries that are begging for primaries.
