You could put the outputs of the two 2500 volt transformers in series, giving
you 5000 volts, and double the power capability. This may be superfluous
info, but for 120 volt operation, connect the primaries in parallel, for 240
volt operation, put the primaries in series, but in either case, be sure the
transformers are in phase.  If they're not in phase, they'll draw mucho amps,
but give no output.   5 kV is on the low end, but will work, but gaps will
have to be closely spaced.   If you use a 140 volt output "step-up" variac,
you will get almost 6 kV output.
