Hey, I am with you Stephen,
I have come pretty close to ordering the Corum's book myself, but do to
restrictive budget have yet. Sounds like an interesting read if you have
already constructed many tube coils and want to push the science to an
art! I have yet to even acquire a design for mine beyond the sketchy
schematic in Trinkaus's book. But that is no deterrent! I have a source
for several free tubes (4cx250B's) and was thinking that one legg off of
a neon bombarder (3500V-at-300mA) that I should also be able to acquire for
low cost would be a good supply to the plate, and a separate 5-10V-at-2-10A
Trany for the filament. No I am not a "Cabinet" coiler, prefere the mad
scientist look!
Now to determine the requred cap and coil values... Any possible help
from you pro-tubers? And yes, I would be interested in buying a well
writen TC-Tube book.
Lets fry some tubes!
