I remember seeing that idea posted by someone (I don't remember who) who
claimed to always order caps by specification, including frequency. It
also seems that frequency was mentioned by the Condenser Products'
engineers during the discussion after some had failed. I know that in
any other application, a capacitor will heat and fail if pushed beyond
it's designed frequency maximum. Since the reactive impedance of the
cap is inversely proportional to the applied frequency, at some point
the cap will have a small voltage drop across it at huge current. It
only
seems reasonable that a high break rate could cause cap failure.
