Thanks to those who were kind enough to reply to my note. The coil was no more than 15cms. long so it would indeed be classed as dinky. I did not notice any heating effects, but this could be because I didn't run it for prolonged periods, there being restrictions here on using equipment that radiates at wireless frequencies.
