A minor note on the history of insulators:
	It took the power compnaies, and their suppliers decades
	of research to get the _right_ porcelain and the _right_
	processing and the _right_ shapes.

Now maybe there is a field for home fired porcelain in this area.  But
i suspect judicious shopping at hanfests and junk yards and the local power
compnay would be as effective a use of time...
	(Refernces, basically, papers published in the AIEE Proceedings
	from 1900 onwards on testing, development, evolution)
