	Perhaps it is worth adding that most of the tubes under
discussion here were referred to as "radiation cooled" and it
was anticipated that they would run with plate temperatures
between red and orange.  Some of the Eimac and Heintz and Kaufman
tubes run very bright orange at normal operating dissipation.  The
real danger of overheating the plates is the emission of gas from
the plate or the envelope.
	The grids are NOT supposed to get that hot.  One has to
be extremely careful in running tetrodes or pentodes in triode
connection to avoid operating conditions (screen voltage below
plate voltage) where the screen gets too hot.
