I'm certainly no expert but I have a capacitor like this here, borrowed
from Chuck Seguin, and I can tell you they certainly work well on HIS coil.
 This one is marked .02 MFD 50000 VDCW Model number KMOB 203-50MES-1 and he
has another much larger.  He's using pulsating DC to drive his coil and
I've never seen them warm up.  Looks like you're in business!
