Some swamp cooler motors have adjustable-diameter pulleys, also; often
available where spare parts are sold for swamp coolers.  You loosen a
setscrew and as I remember, unscrew the pulley to make the diameter
smaller and vice versa.  Probably goes from 1 1/2" to 3 1/2 " max
adjustment.  Mostly for adjusting current draw from the motor under load.
