Gary -

What ever you do, DON'T RUN A MICROWAVE OVEN IN THIS FASHION!
You can get backscatter with the microwave energy. At 1Kw, you are
literally cooking anything INCLUDING YOU that encounters any of that
microwave energy. Aiming it at a wall WILL cause some reflected
energy, which just might cook YOU or others in the room or house!

Also, by pointing the waveguide at that birdhouse, who knows where
the rest of the beam energy went. Did it happily go zipping into your
neighbor's house and cook their kid(s)? You have no way of knowing
that. DON'T FOOL WITH MICROWAVE ENERGY UNLESS YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT
YOU ARE DOING, AND KNOW THE SAFETY RULES AND UNDERSTAND THE PROPERTIES
OF MICROWAVE ENERGY.

Sorry to 'yell' like that, but a stunt like this -- while an honest
attempt at trying out an idea -- is a bad thing. It only takes one
or two accidents to put a kabosh on the idea of Tesla coils and
home science experimentors. Not to mention the possibility of your
facing a MILLION dollar (or higher) lawsuit. It isn't worth it.
