Project Last Questions
Hello,
I am finishing up my small coil project and
have a few questions I hope can be answered. My small
coil project operates using a 9kv-at-30ma power supply.
Q: I found some heavy duty 4 conductor cable with a
very heavy shielding. Using the 4 conductors as
my switched mains (transformer and muffin fan),
can the shield be used to carry my RF ground or
would that be to close the the mains?
Q: I have been using thick stranded wire for all my
connections (600V insulation), but I have some
Belden cable (40000V insulation). The diameter of
the first mentioned wire is greater than that of
the Belden. Which wire is better for connections?
For the tuning wire?
Q: My primary and secondary are on a round piece of
plywood. Is it okay to drill holes through the
wood for the center primary and secondary RF
ground connetions or better just to run the wires
under the primary form off the side of the wooden tier?
Thanks all in advance. I can't wait to get up and going
because I have a friend photographer who wants to
experiment with different shots, times, etc.
