  I wanted to let everyone know that Mendelson's electronics in Dayton
  Ohio are selling high power/current "breaking resistors" these would
  but great for using in conjuction with the primary current limiting
  reactance. They are smaller than the oven element often used, the
  have:

  .09 ohm - .15 ohm - .434 ohm - .157 ohm - .069 ohm - .159 ohm 

  .0915 ohm - .185 ohm - .1105 ohm - .262 ohm - .136 ohm - .88 ohm

  All are rated at 700 to 1,000 watts and come in three sizes depending
  on what value you order. They are $6.95 each

  sizes: 2 1/8" dia x 17 1/2" long
     
         4 1/2" dia x 16 1/2" long

         18 5/8" H x 5 1/4" W x 2 1/2" deep (oval)
