For a given gap length it is V.I where V is more-or-less fixed
conduction voltage. Using good components in the tank gives a
perfectly linear decrement. Perhaps you could double-check me on that.
The variable I'm not yet sure about is gap length. Over such small
distances I'm inclined to think it is comparatively insignificant,
but a check is definitely required there.
Thanks for the CP info Chip. I'll fax the company today. It
seems to me that if they have to "rebuild" the caps, in essence they
are going to have to dispense with the old ones and simply provide
new better ones. It occurred to me that I might be able to get them
to build and ship me new ones for a nominal cost which I wouldn't
mind paying. I'll see what they say and report back.
