* Bombarding Transformers
*
* All transformers have 220 volt primaries.
* These unit require additional control equipment to operate.
*
* Size KVA Sec. Voltage Sec. Current Pri. Current Price
*---------------------------------------------------------------------
* 15 KVA 24,000 160 to 625 90 1618.50
* 22KVA 24,000 200 to 910 120 1885.00
*
*
* Bombarder Controls
*
* The Transco "Super Choke" replaces conventional slide chokes for
*precision control of bombarding transformers. This choke utilizes
*D.C. reactance to regulate the current flow in the primary windings.
*This is accomplished by rectification of a variacs output feeding a
*separate winding that causes magnetic saturation to occur.
*
* For 15 KVA.Price (includes variac) $1050.00
* For 22 KVA.Price (includes variac) $1250.00
*

What is the above Transco "Super Choke". What
is it? How does it work? Does anybody have a circuit diagram? And
would a homemade version of this device make a good replacement for
the Arc welders some coilers use?
