I was talking today to a friend who worked in communications, we were taking about tesla coils, and how to get higher frequency output. An idea was put forward about microwave communications and the way they get high frequency. I dont' know all the specifics but what follows is our idea. If inductors are put in parallel, the total inductance is less than the smallest value. Would it be possible to stack primary coils to increase the frequency, and then use multiple secondaries in parallel to resonate at that frequency, or say the 2nd or 4th harmonic. As I understand it even harmonics produce sign waves while odd harmonics produce sawtooth or square waves. Would it be possible to produce terahertz frequencies?
Has anyone tried this?
Another thing, does anyone have the equation to calculate the size of discharge terminal to produce best effects, either toroid or spherical.
