Bruce, probably the best reference I can point you to on rectifying Tesla 
coil outputs is to get a copy of "Electric Spacecraft Journal", Issue # 3, 
January 28, 1992, pp 6 thru 17.  Ron Kovak published a very good article on 
Tesla's longitudinal ground wave generator at Colorado Springs and describes 
some rectification experiments that Ron did with a Tesla coil.
