I'll take the tip and wind with some smaller guage wire.
My was concerned over larger (kickback) voltages being
great enough to short out the windings. No one has really
said THHN wire is a bad idea, sooooo....
I'll set it up and see what smokes.
BTW, how many turns did you have for the 650-700 uh reading?
I got 80uh with 20 turns of 12 ga. Our meters shouldn't read
that far apart.
