That is an old one of "Nemesis" in action. The bearded guy (looks like
wolfman), extreme left, is Dave Sharpe a fellow electronics engineer and
one of our most talented members. The other two are "joiners" and are
not what I would call real coilers. They no longer attend our monthly
meetings. They were , of course, "Johnny on the spot" for publicity
hounding. The two guys in the shadows are the real coilers.
We have also appeared on the BBC show "Short Circuit" in 1994. and this
month we were filmed for an upcoming show, "Future Fantastic" to air on
the BBC on August 9th of this year. Finally, on June 23rd the USA
Discovery channel will be filming for part of a six hour documentary
series they are doing for next year.
I wish these folks would come and go, as it is crampin' our style for
experiments in the lab! Still, the publicity for Tesla and his coil are
important to keep the public awareness high. I have found that the hype
drives the media (not so much the BBC though. They are good eggs).
