Thanks everybody for your suggestions.
I just got up off my derier and went to the garage to have a look to see if
it's center tapped. Forgot to take my meter but I noticed the voltage read
130 kV not 250 kV. Oops. Looks like I'll need to build a quadrupler. I have
about 70 20 kV diodes. Problem will be building the caps. I plan on using
mylar 6 mm.Mylar is good for 17kV per mm. That's probably not thick enough
so maybe two layers of 4 mm or something similar. I'm hoping that one
square foot area with 8 mm of Mylar will do the trick with 60 Hz. Does that
sound about right? I can go to 5 square feet per cap or even higher square
footage, that is if I roll them and immerse them in the same dielectric
oil, but I need to know the square footage.
