Jack,
I bought one of these a while ago. It is basically a souped up ignition
coil driven by a light dimmer and capacitor. You are saying: but that
will give pulses and not DC and you are right. The pulses are
predominantly of one polarity but I think it is highly misleading to
call it "DC".
