This is Aron's recently constructed (Mar-2000) Solid State Tesla Coil (SSTC). This is one incredibly compact, efficient, and reliable coil. It almost looks like a commercial piece of electronics inside when the chassis is opened. The coil can be tuned via a front-panel mounted potentiometer, which makes tuning a cakewalk. Disruptive (spark-gap type) Tesla Coil operators (such as us!) only dream of this ease in tuning. The output is a very quiet, hissing, beautiful thing. With changes in tuning, the arcs can be made to be sword- like and long, or fat and bushy. A very cool display of HVRF indeed.
