Re: [TCML] Variac Ratings?

Thanks for the link yurtle =)
Using it, I have narrowed down what the part number could be based on the dimensions of the unit.
Its a 95 series and Its either 240V (50A or 60A) 9T92D74G51 9T92D75G51Or 480V (30A or 35A)9T92D76G51

9T92D77G51
Which is pretty much what we already knew, lol.  I'm leaning to the 480V model due to the wire gauge being #10. I can't really see GE designing a 50/60 amp unit with 25/30A wire, but hey what do I know.
Regardless, i can use it in the 240V configuration I wanted to use it in.
Confirmation of its type via the number of turns and wire gauge to a known model number would be nice for my general knowledge of what I have,  if someone finds the time. But not completely necessary.
Thank you all for your help.
Cheers, Jay

You might find what you need here, or Google it.http://www.weschler.com/_upload/sitepdfs/voltpac/voltpac_catalog.pdf From: Yurtle Turtle To: Tesla Coil Mailing List Sent: Saturday, February 25, 2017 1:58 PM Subject: Re: [TCML] Variac Ratings? Not without some effort. It is against the wall with a lot of clutter in front of it. The beast weighs a LOT.I'll try and get to it as soon as I can. It seems that this form factor might have multiple ratings dependent on the windings.I was convinced that mine was identical to kens, but now I'm not so sure. The 30A rating makes sense for mine, which appears to have #10 wire.Yurtle turtle, Could you possibly verify your wire gauge and # of turns? Mine has 300 turns. -JaySent from my Verizon 4G LTE Smartphone------ Original message------From: Yurtle Turtle via Tesla Date: Sat, Feb 25, 2017 11:37 AMTo: Tesla Coil Mailing List;Cc: Subject:Re: [TCML] Variac Ratings? My label is partially covered by the motor parts, but mine is a GE Voltpac, and if I recall, mine's 540 volts, and maybe 30 amps each.I'll have to move some stuff around in the garage to get close enough to read it, but I'll try this weekend. If it's not too hard, I may remove the parts so I can get a pic of the label.      From: Eric Urban  To: Tesla Coil Mailing List  Sent: Saturday, February 25, 2017 8:44 AM Subject: Re: [TCML] Variac Ratings?  At one point or another I owned about I think four variacs like that.Numerous other list members bought some at the same time, forsomething like $1 each.
