Lots of ways to visualise magnetic fields in the air as it were.

It uses a stick with 3 Hall devices on it, with a different colour LED associated with each one. A processor reads each value and will run the LED if it is within a certain range. The magic happens if the space is swept rapidly in near darkness and a long photographic exposure is taken.

lower resolution CCDs.
