Hi guys,

Looking for inexpensive Helmholtz coils. Anyone selling?

How big?

Most people just build them using plywood, 2x2s and wire.

The material cost and even the time to build it is usually cheaper than the shipping cost for a big bulky thing.

Unless you need very high fields or NIST traceable calibration, etc.

Although a Helmholz coil setup is pretty close to being a primary standard. If you can measure current accurately, then you KNOW the magnetic field, because it's all about geometry.
