Re: [TCML] First Full Power Test - 3 phase MOT coil

Thanks Ted,

I estimate about 7-8' for the strikes to the ceiling, need to measure it. As you can see I am very restricted by my shed space and the strike rail.

My next step is to make a smaller but much wider toroid. This will give even more vertical clearance and hopefully direct the sparks more horizontally away from the strike rail.

It's nice being able to run this kind of power with such a low current drain on any one phase.

Also, I'm pretty sure the deqing diodes and chokes probably stop a lot of rfi from entering the power grid.

Still need to try lowering the secondary and 600 bps!

Congratulations Greg

May or may not be the first 3 phase MOT coil BUT it will not be the last.
Just how long are those streamers?

Interesting the MOT's are holding up, always thought they would even if not
modified to the maximum extent.

Test - 3 phase MOT coil

Looking good, thanks to everyone for their support and interest. Is this a
world first use of MOTs?
