SGTCs have higher peak powers and lower electronic complexity (yes, a mechanical setup to get from keyboard to multiple rotary gaps would be quite complex, but, hey, no worse than a piano or harpsichord)

David, your right. This is all kind of silly. It's like "can we make a square wheel roll". Well yes if you design the road for it. But really, what's the point. If you want to do audio on a coil, just build an SSTC and if you want powerful long sparks and music also, do a DRSSTC. This thread is kind of silly.
BTW, SGTC's have higher peak powers? Where did you learn that?
