Re: [TCML] Tuning primary to secondary with a scope

As far as i am aware,
first connect a function generator to the secondary/toroid ( disconnect rf ground i think) sweep frequency and look for the highest amplitude with the scope.
then you connect a frequency generator to the tank circuit and adjust the frequency until it matches the first one you found.
You can also connect the scope to the secondary and the frequency generator to the tank circuit and look or a max amplitude in the secondary while adjusting the tap point (this also requires step 1)

i think that's how you do it. I have never done it, but i am pretty sure.

I'm looking for some information on this topic myself, If anybody
cares to respond that would be lovely for the both of us.

I know the function generator output can go to to the tap point of the primary coil, and down under on the innermost turn is the connection to the MMC (making the other LC circuit) but should I disconnect the MMC from the power feed going in to it? So that it's just the primary coil and cap? What's the difference in the frequency of the primary when the tank is powered vs when it's unplugged? Aside from the 60 Hz coming from the outlet
