GA *is* Maxwell Labs, as far as capacitors go.. that is, GA bought the pulsed power part of Maxwell's business quite some time ago. I believe they also bought some parts of EG&G/Perkin Elmer, also pulsed power, as well.

They're expensive (at least in hobby terms.. several kilobucks per cap in the multi kilojoule size you're interested in).

Maxwell also makes space qualified integrated circuits and custom radiation shielded packages, as well.

Where are you physically located (in general)... shipping costs on surplus capacitors can easily be more than the capacitor costs.

If you're in southern california, and willing to drive your truck or other suitable load carrying vehicle, I might have some capacitors you can have for free.
