Sounds to me from the description the NST has ground fault protection. If so, it won't work in a Tesla coil circuit as-is.


"The transformer's protection is Class I and its
enclosure class is IP00. It has been equipped
with a signalling sensor for an earth leakage

We actually managed to get our hands on a 8 kV NST. If you look at the attached pdf you'll see all of its specifications (our transformer is called "N 40/8 RC") Is this NST suitable for a tesla coil?
