Re: [TCML] Is this 2,3kW Triode suitable for a VTTC?

Stefan,

My guess is yes, you can replace your tube with this one.
To see a real benefit, you'll probably need to increase your
plate voltage.

Nice work on the 833A VTTC project....

Cheers,
John

Subject: [TCML] Is this 2,3kW Triode suitable for a VTTC?

Hello,

after my first 833A VTTC is a big success, making 23" sparks, I ask myself

if the following tube is also suitable:

http://www.radiomuseum.org/tubes/tube_tb52500.html

This TB5 has a Plate-Voltage of 7kV and a power of 2,3kW! Would it be

possible to simply replace the 833A in my VTTC by this TB5 Triode? Of course

I would nee a bigger filament transformer (6,3V, 32.5Amps)...

Regards

Stefan
